Wightman Tennis Center is your one-stop destination for aquatic recreation for the whole family. Enjoy unrestricted lap swimming while kids splash on the stairs, play pool basketball, or jump off the 1-meter diving board. Finish your workout with a dip in our whirlpool.

Spend your summers lounging at our outdoor pool, and visit the patio area to enjoy restaurant-quality meals from Hazel’s Cafe. Ample grass area allows room for children to run and play, and our outdoor playground and basketball court are conveniently located within the enclosed pool area.

Meet our Swim Staff

Matt Brooks

Aquatics Director

Matt joined Wightman in 2018 and accepted the Aquatics Director position in 2019. A certified USA Swimming Coach and American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Matt is a lifelong athlete who brings great leadership and enthusiasm to the pool. With a vast knowledge of sports, physical development and fitness, Matt brings a unique perspective to his lessons as he creates personalized instruction to meet each swimmer’s needs.

Prior to joining Wightman’s staff, Matt held coaching and teaching positions in the area:

•  Special Education Paraprofessional – Weston High School •  Freshman Basketball Coach – Weston High School •  Varsity Football Assistant Coach – Weston High School

Matt graduated from the University of Massachusetts with his bachelor’s degree in management. In his spare time, Matt enjoys staying active and enjoying new restaurants.

Chrystal Begay

Swim Instructor

Chrystal has worked part-time at Wightman since 2001, with a leave from 2008-2011 while she lived in New York. A swim instructor for over 18 years, Chrystal is a certified USA Swimming Coach and has worked with swimmers of all ages and abilities, from Learn-to-Swim to high school state-level competitors. ​In addition to Wightman, Chrystal has held a number of teaching and coaching positions:

•  Lifeguard / Swim Instructor – Adam’s Pool (Lexington, MA)
•  Swim Coach – Marlins Swimming (Rochester, NY)
•  Swim Coach – Billerica Memorial High School

As a youth, Chrystal was a District qualifier in all strokes and an Age Group qualifier in freestyle and butterfly. She broke a number of school records during her high school career—one of which still stands today (100-yard butterfly). Chrystal attended the University of Massachusetts, where she earned her B.A. in English and philosophy and an M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction.
