Since 1970 Wightman has been committed to the advancement of tennis by prioritizing recreational opportunities, junior development, and competitive programs for players of all ages.

Members enjoy access to four indoor Rebound Ace courts with two Playmate ball machines, as well as 12 outdoor Har-Tru clay courts — all with no court fees!

Meet our Tennis Staff

Mason Viau

Director of Tennis

Mason joined Wightman in 2021 after serving as the Director of tennis at the Boston Sports Club in Wellesley. He is currently the Head of Adult Tennis for Netresults in Brookline, MA and has over 20 years of teaching and playing experience.

As a junior player he achieved a top 10 ranking in New England and a top 100 ranking nationally. He brings both collegiate and professional experience, having played #1 Singles and doubles for the University of Connecticut and having played on the ATP/ITF tour.

Mason has previously worked at clubs such as the International Tennis Hall of Fame, Farm Neck, and Sippican Tennis Club.

Jason Walsh

Tennis Professional

Jason brings 15-years teaching experiencing to the courts, having taught and coached across the country:

  • Bay Tennis and Fitness (Harbor Springs, MI);
  • Greater Midland Tennis Center (Midland, MI)
  • Little Harbor Club (Harbor Springs MI)
  • Bosse Sports Club (Sudbury, MA)
  • Dunes Club (Narragansett, RI)

Born and raised in Michigan, Jason started playing tennis at 11 years old and quickly excelled, earning national ranking as a junior. After graduating high school, where he achieved All State selection in 2001, Jason competed on scholarship at Aquinas College, graduating with a B.S. in geography.

Aside from tennis, he also enjoys playing pool, golf, video games, and watching movies.

Hefin Roberts

Tennis Professional

Hefin joined Wightman in 2021 and brings many years of teaching experience to the courts. Hefin grew up playing tennis in Wales and attended the Cardiff Metropolitan University. Prior to joining Wightman, he was a tennis professional at Bosse Sports Club. 

Max Karger

Tennis Professional

Max joined Wightman’s tennis staff in 2021. A former member at Wightman, Max grew up playing tennis and competed for Medfield High School before joining the varsity team at Nichols College. In addition to his competitive career, Max has several years of teaching experience:

  • Tennis Professional at Waterfall Tennis Academy
  • Tennis Professional at Medfield Park & Recreation

Max graduated from Nichols College with his B.S. in business administration / sports management.
